Virtual ASL Classes for Youth

Virtual ASL Classes for Youth
In partnership with HDS, The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library will offer “Introduction to American Sign Language” this Fall. This four-week class is for children ages 7-12. Our instructor, local college student Hannah Ahearn, will teach the basics of communicating in American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf culture. Children will be able to borrow a free textbook from the library for the duration of the class. Since we will be building on skills learned, weekly participation is important, so please only register if you are able to commit to attending at least 3 of the 4 sessions. This virtual program will be held via Zoom. You must include your email when you sign up. The library will email you a link to participate in the program via Zoom. Families will be notified about when to pick up materials for this program.

To register, go to the Library’s website.
