Governor mandates interpretation/translation of protocols for essential business employees whose native language is not English

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, in its ongoing efforts to stem the spread of COVID-19, the Governor’s office announced new regulations for essential business that remain open. The new rules include that businesses must: “Ensure that all employees who do not speak English as their first language are aware of procedures by communicating the procedures, either orally or in writing, in their native or preferred language.” Compliance with the order will be enforced beginning Sunday, April 19 at 8 p.m.
